Staff Engineer, Mechanical Design

What we expect
- Development of Automotive LED lightsources acc. to established scientific methods, international standards, IP situation and customer requirements from planning & designing to series production
- Optimization of mechanical product designs concerning costs, quality and performance
- Define product and component specifications based on tolerance calculations, thermal and mechanical simulations and acquired technical expertise on recent technical innovations to make sure the product design can be manufactured in series production
- Perform, analyze and document product or component tests by developing testing procedures including equipment definition and performing failure analysis with recommendations for problem solving
- Alignment with suppliers concerning mechanical components and customers concerning mechanical questions
- Support production introduction in an interdisciplinary team by design and construction of tools for specific electronic and optic parts, definition of test strategy and equipment selection as well as assembly process know how and Support in series production in case of quality issues, claim analysis, delivery problems or second source qualifications
Who we are looking for
- Education background & Industry exposure: bachelor or above of mechanical, physics or relevant field
- Years of experience: minimum 3 years experience on mechanical and thermal design, LED lighting product preferred
- Essential knowledge and professional skills: mechanical design, material (metal, plastic, glass) design, thermal design, drawing software Solidworks, CAD, DIALUX, etc., technical know how for lighting products, especially in LED headlamps, luminaire or bulbs
- Certification requirement (if needed):
- Other must to have requirements (leadership experience, IT, language…): English, result-oriented, team inspirit, knowledge in assembly processes (preferably LED lighting products)
- Other nice to have requirements (leadership experience, IT, language…) Automotive experience, project management experience
