What we expect
- Preparing and reviewing contracts as required by the business (mainly in relation to Procurement/Supplier contracts, lease agreements, facilities contracts etc for factory operations, but also with regards to Sales & Marketing, HR (employment agreements), Finance, IT, Facilities etc), and providing advice on general contract/legal issues, including dispute resolution and settlement negotiations
- Implementing Legal Department’s contracting policies and signature policies and monitoring the same in the course of regular business.
- Managing/Maintaining records of all executed contracts/documents in Singapore, to be added to the ams-OSRAM contracts database
- Assisting in analysis on various legal matters and providing legal advice to business units, especially in relation to Singapore law and local legislation and regulations (including local frameworks for government subsidies). When dealing with certain queries from other jurisdictions in APAC, some contracts/documents may be in Chinese – working command of Chinese is a desired advantage.
- Supporting the Head of Legal APAC with certain general legal duties, including providing regular legal training in Singapore, and updating of latest laws and legislation coming out of Singapore that may impact the business.
- Supporting certain admin matters of the ams-Osram Legal Department where required, and any other tasks relevant to the above job scope as may be assigned to you by Head of Legal APAC from time to time.
Who we are looking for
- Have a minimum 10+ years’ PQE (post-qualification experience) in corporate/commercial law, with a strong preference for candidates who have held in-house roles in multinational or regional operations. M&A experience is a plus.
- Have demonstrated ability to serve as the primary legal advisor for local management, members of the business units and other support functions and provide practical and timely legal solutions with minimal supervision
- Superior command of English (written and spoken), with the ability to draft and negotiate high-stakes agreements independently. Proficiency in Chinese is preferred.
- Be a highly analytical and strong rational thinker, able to anticipate legal and commercial risks, provide strategic, business-centric advice, and deliver pragmatic solutions under tight deadlines.
- Team player that can function with high degree of independence and pro-active responsibility, and to remain engaged in a high energy and versatile Global Legal team that supports the entire ams-Osram business worldwide
