Senior Staff Engineer, Optical

Foshan, Guangdong Province, China – OSRAM Asia Pacific Mgmt.

Your tasks

  • Responsible for correct selection of optical material/components/LEDs based on specification/technical feasibility, environmental conditions and product requirements.
  • Gather customer requirement and market demands from application side, generate input for product design.
  • Estimate the costs, resources, and time required to conduct a new project from application perspective and monitor performance to ensure these targets are met while adopting the relevant procedures.
  • Assist product go-to-market, providing technical support, material and product knowledge for marketing.
  • Support design-in activities, providing technical support and demonstrations to win project contracts.
  • Compose technical documentation and application notes to ensure customers fully understand and utilize the products.

Who we are looking for

  • Bachelor or above, major in optic or relevant.
  • Min. 3 year experience on automotive headlamp or light source product as optic engineer, or optic related FAE or PM.
  • Experienced with project handling, being able to independently handle marketing support, proposal writing, product demonstration etc.
  • Good knowledge in Light design with tools like LucidShape, LightTools.
  • Understanding and knowledge of AM lighting regulations, application conditions.
  • Familiar with automotive headlamp or light source product development and testing process.
  • Coaching or demonstrating skill.
  • Self-motivated, team spirit, good attitudes, interpersonal skill.
  • English could be working language, sensitive to numbers.

From receiving your documents to acceptance: the application process

Step 1

Job search

You have found your desired position on our job board? On this page you will find a link at the end of the position description that will take you to our applicant portal. You haven't found the right position yet and would like to send us your unsolicited application? - Simply create your candidate profile in our applicant portal. We will be happy to inform you about jobs that match your profile via our "Job Alert". Would you like to check the current status of your application? Then you can track it directly in your candidate profile under "Job applications". Our goal is to provide you with a great experience and maximum transparency in our application process.

Step 2

Online application

You simply register on our applicant portal and receive access data with which you log in. In the application form, you only have to fill out a few fields and can upload important documents such as cover letter, resume or certificates. This usually takes 5 - 10 minutes. As soon as your application has been successfully saved in our applicant portal, you will automatically receive a confirmation of receipt. The individual review of your documents by HR and the department usually takes two to four weeks.

Step 3

Phone interview

If your profile is suitable for the advertised position, we will invite you to a telephone interview.

Step 4

First personal interview

You have aroused our interest! Now we would like to get to know you personally and invite you to a first interview. In this interview, you will talk to your potential manager and the recruiter about your opportunities at ams OSRAM and your skills and professional experience. The time between the telephone interview and the first personal interview is usually one to two weeks.

Step 5

Second personal interview

If the first interview goes well for you and for us, you are on the shortlist. It is very likely that we will invite you to a further interview: Often there is a need for further clarification after the first interview, in terms of content or organization, which we can then discuss. The time span between the first and the second personal interview is usually two weeks.

Step 6

Starting out with us

We have reached an agreement and the contractual issues are settled? - Welcome to ams OSRAM! The time span between the second personal interview and the conclusion of the contract is usually one to two weeks.

Step 7

Onboarding
