Principal Engineer, MK Application Engineering

Your tasks

  • We need an application engineer with expert knowledge on optical sensors for smartphones and smartwatches
    Ideally, He/she should have engineering background and participated in the design of optical sensors for smartphones and smartwatches. He should be able to interacts directly with the engineering teams of our customers on key features and the impact on the design of our products
  • Have experience in the eco-system for smartphones and smartwatches, including display manufacturers, assembly partners, filter supplier, process nodes, IC sensor technologies, etc.
  • Enable us to get closer to customers and understand system and application requirements to align product and technology roadmaps and product definition of IOS with customer needs.
  • Follow trends, scientific conferences and enables us to create a technology roadmap in alignment with PL
  • Lead doing competition analysis (reverse engineering, tear down analysis etc.

Key Responsibility：

  • Frequent interaction with technical teams of key customers to understand customer products system level operating principle, application pain points, and their technical requirements on IOS products deeply.
  • Work together with MKT/FAE/AE to consolidate and document products and technologies requirements, , competition status to RD team and PL, monitor and ensure project team develop products that meet customer needs.
  • Cross-departmental collaboration, internal technical alignment towards RD, AE, PM, external information collection and consolidation.
  • Assist PM and MKT on product and technology roadmap management, including but not limited to updating roadmap content regularly according to customer feedback, technical evolution or market changes, risk control etc.
  • Drive roadmaps reach consensus with customers, and the roadmap logic is well explained to the customer through technical workshops, customer visits, etc., to ensure that both parties agree on the goal, pace and delivery standards.
  • Long-term relationship maintaining, updating product development status regularly, and digging out potential opportunities together with MTK.

Who we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in electronic engineering
  • 8+ years or above electronic product working experience
  • Good experience in sensor and mobile applications, excellent knowledge of digital and analog circuits.
  • Have good pressure resistance, team worker.
  • Excellent communication abilities and fluent English, IT skill.
  • Experience in semiconductor/display R&D, optical knowledge, strategic thinking, good in presentation, having good relationships with key mobile customers are a plus
