Global IT Infrastructure Service Owner & Solution Architect (d/​m/​f)

Your tasks

We are seeking a skilled and strategic Global Infrastructure Service Owner and Solution Architect (d/m/f) to lead the design, governance, andlifecycle management of our global OpenShift Container platforms and large-scale virtualization environments. This role is pivotal in steering andmanaging an external service provider responsible for the day-to-day operations, ensuring alignment with business goals, SLAs, and compliancestandards:

  • Act as the primary owner of OpenShift and VMWare virtualization infrastructure services globally
  • Define and maintain service strategy, architecture, and lifecycle in alignment with enterprise IT, local Operation IT teams and businessobjectives
  • Establish and monitor SLAs, KPIs, and OLAs with external partners to ensure high availability, performance, and compliance
  • Lead service reviews, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives with the external provider
  • Drive incident and problem management escalations, root cause analysis, and resolution planning
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement security controls, patching, and vulnerability management
  • Design and evolve scalable, secure, and resilient OpenShift container platforms and virtualization environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, KVM)
  • Contribute to budget planning, cost optimization, and capacity forecasting for infrastructure services

Who we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with strong experience in conceptual work and defining technical approaches. Profound understanding ofIT infrastructure core technologies, e.g. storage, backup, networking
  • Deep expertise in OpenShift/Kubernetes, container orchestration and/or virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware vSphere, Red Hat Virtualization)
  • Proven experience managing external service providers in a global enterprise environment
  • Understanding of ITIL, DevOps and Agile methodologies
  • Project management skills for Network & Datacenter design/built projects
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability of working in globally distributed matrix organizations
  • Excellent command of oral and written business English

From receiving your documents to acceptance: the application process

Step 1

Job search

You have found your desired position on our job board? On this page you will find a link at the end of the position description that will take you to our applicant portal. Step 2

Online application

You simply register on our applicant portal and receive access data with which you log in. In the application form, you only have to fill out a few fields and can upload important documents such as cover letter, resume or certificates. This usually takes 5 - 10 minutes. As soon as your application has been successfully saved in our applicant portal, you will automatically receive a confirmation of receipt. The individual review of your documents by HR and the department usually takes two to four weeks.

First personal interview

You have aroused our interest! Now we would like to get to know you personally and invite you to a first interview. The time between the telephone interview and the first personal interview is usually one to two weeks.

Step 5

Second personal interview

If the first interview goes well for you and for us, you are on the shortlist. It is very likely that we will invite you to a further interview: Often there is a need for further clarification after the first interview, in terms of content or organization, which we can then discuss. The time span between the first and the second personal interview is usually two weeks.

Step 6

Starting out with us

We have reached an agreement and the contractual issues are settled? - Welcome to ams OSRAM! The time span between the second personal interview and the conclusion of the contract is usually one to two weeks.

Onboarding
