What we expect
- Manage performance to get a best in-class team
- Mentor coach team members to boost their individual performance
- Execute regular competence evaluation of the team members, identify weaknesses, trigger and monitoring improvement measures
- Contribute to competence evaluation, training identification and assignment for the related engineers, ensuring team members training needs are covered in order to implement a continuous improvement mentality
- Monitor the team mood and take pro-active actions to keep the motivation high
- Drive innovation and IP creation inside the team
- Collect “customer” (internal/external) feedbacks in relation to projects developed by the team, share them with the stakeholders and take improvement measures if necessary
- Compile “learned lessons” and implement the corrective actions in the organization
- Provide and assign the dedicated resources to projects (programs) as member of the resource allocation board
- Ensure that the resource demands are covered
- Act as facilitator to remove road-blocks for the projects developed by the team
- Responsible for driving the recruitment of new employees, when needed
- Define competence requirements and contribute to competence forecasting and gap identification
- Stay updated on state-of-the-art and future methodologies and tools, and contribute to the related infrastructure evaluation and selection
- Contribute, in cooperation with marketing and RD peers, to the definition of technology and project roadmaps which enable reaching and/or keeping market leadership position in medical imaging and sensor interface spaces
- Identify potential strategic service providers
- Reach project related contracts with service providers based on available frame contract, evaluate their performance and identify weaknesses
- Provide the required equipment and regular efficiency evaluation of it
Who we are looking for
- MSc degree on Electronic Engineering or similar
- At least 5 years of experience in semiconductor/sensor design
- Experience in similar RD leadership position
- Strong social, coaching and leadership skills
- High level of perceptivity
- Keeping overview on complex situations
- High level of commitment and flexibility - Taking ownership to “make it happen”
- Strong team player with a visible “what’s best for the company” mentality
- Fluent in English, knowledge of Spanish would be an advantage
