Responsibilities of the position include the oversight of financial statement preparation and reporting for US Canadian entities, including the income statement, balance sheet, and supplemental reporting to the parent company in Germany. The position holder will report to the Financial Director for the Americas. The position holder will be responsible to build and maintain a strong, collaborative partnership with senior leaders within the global organization and to manage cross functional teams that support the US Canadian entities. This is a critical and instrumental role for an energetic individual, in a fast-paced environment, that has the breadth of experience to be able to lead the team, understand and prepare complex financial statements but also roll up their sleeves and do the detailed accounting work necessary get the job done.

Your tasks

• Management of all accounting and finance related activities and reporting for the US Canada legal entities - including tax, transfer pricing, pension, stewardship, other compliance, and regulatory reporting
• Management of monthly financial closings, lead local and international finance team to deliver accurate and timely financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
• Responsible for entity liquidity planning and cash management, including bank administration for the Canadian legal entity
• Oversee relationship with cross-functional teams and Global Business Services (GBS) to manage day-to-day operations and resolve time sensitive issues
• Management of external and internal audits - including tax audits, financial audits, and other regulatory compliance audits
• Responsible for executing, reviewing, and monitoring entity internal controls
• Responsible for logistics function in Canada and assist in handling entity export and customs compliance requests
• Become the system finance expert on SAP and all the in-house systems
• Contribute and be the finance lead on all regional projects
• Work to continuously improve finance systems and processes and support broader global automation initiatives

• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in Finance; with 3+ years leading a team
• Bachelor's degree or MBA (or equivalent experience) in Accounting or Finance
• CPA is a must
• Expertise in IFRS, be able to research and interpret accounting standards
• Exceptional business sense and ability to understand and resolve complex business issues
• Experience with leading ERP systems and tools, SAP a plus, with strength in process and system improvements
• Dynamic interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and influence across all levels within and outside the company
• Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, analytical and communication skills
