Planning Manager

What we expect
- Coordinate and lead planning and procurement of materials, develop the supply chain team and fulfill customer requirements
- Optimize inventory turns while maintaining 100% fill rates
- Maintain reporting on inventory coverage and dollars
- Planning (includes inventory planning, production planning, forecasting to suppliers): is responsible for one or more of the following: Manages 7 Planning Analysts to ensure meeting customer demands while maintaining inventory turns and inventory goals
- Analyzes inventory levels, inventory positioning, planned production/purchases and sales forecasts
- Develops and maintains inputs to inventory system
- Coordinates in depth review of current inventory and liquidation and transfer of stock to reflect cost, age and demand
- Initiates immediate actions in out-of-stock situations
- Coordinates with traffic, production planning, and warehouse personnel to ensure proper routing, scheduling, and storing of goods
- Minimizing inventory investment and redeployment costs
- Supports changes to products, materials and/or suppliers during transitions
- Typical profile at this level: Applies knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards
- Develops solutions to complex problems, may lead cross functional teams to resolve issues
- Errors in judgment/failure to achieve results has serious effect on organization and require significant expenditure of resources to rectify
Who we are looking for
- Minimum of a Bachelors' degree along with 5+ years of relevant experience
- Experience planning production and purchased products
- May have experience in implementation of lean methodology in Supply Chain
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Must develop and maintain positive supply chain management
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Self-motivated, well organized, flexible and detail oriented
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- High degree of professionalism
- Ability to work with diverse cultures
- Experience with SAP
